Facilities for Students

Classrooms
Our classrooms are spacious, well-lit, and well-ventilated, providing a comfortable and engaging learning atmosphere. Each classroom is equipped with modern audio-visual aids and projection systems to support effective teaching, interactive sessions, and technology-enabled learning.
Library
The college houses a well-stocked library with over 4,000 books, along with a wide collection of national and international nursing journals. Computer Lab
The computer laboratory is equipped with internet facilities and is accessible to all students. It supports academic activities such as assignments, seminars, presentations, case studies, and online research, encouraging digital learning and technological proficiency.
Transport Facilities
The college provides safe and reliable transport facilities for students commuting to hospitals and clinical posting areas. Faculty members are also provided with pick-up and drop services between the college, Central Bus Stand, and Manapparai, ensuring smooth and timely travel.

KMC Institute of Health Sciences offers fully equipped, modern laboratories that provide hands-on practical training and skill development across all areas of nursing education.
Advanced Nursing Practice Laboratory
This laboratory is equipped with advanced mannequins that simulate real-life nursing procedures, enabling students to build confidence and clinical competence before hospital exposure.
Fundamentals of Nursing Laboratory
Designed primarily for B.Sc. Nursing first-year students, this lab focuses on developing essential nursing skills such as personal hygiene care and basic nursing procedures.
Facilities include:
- Advanced mannequins with special features
- Fully Fowler beds, partial Fowler beds, adult and paediatric beds
- Air beds and water beds
- CPR training using specialised mannequins
Pre-clinical Sciences Laboratory (Anatomy & Physiology)
The pre-clinical laboratory is spacious and well-ventilated, supporting effective learning of human anatomy and physiology.
Facilities include:
- Complete body-mounted skeleton
- Loose bones
- Anatomical charts and models of body systems
Obstetrics & Gynaecology (OBG) Laboratory
This state-of-the-art laboratory allows students to practise antenatal, intranatal, and postnatal care in a simulated environment.
Facilities include:
- Mannequins for abdominal examination, delivery, and episiotomy suturing
- Newborn dolls and obstetric instruments
The lab provides an ideal setting for learning maternity and child health nursing skills.
Paediatric Nursing Laboratory
The paediatric nursing laboratory is equipped with simulators, mannequins, models, and charts that help students practise child healthcare skills.
Facilities include:
- Physical examination of children
- Growth and development assessment
- Monitoring vital signs
- Paediatric medication administration
- Safety and child restraining techniques
Community Health Nursing Laboratory
This laboratory supports training in primary healthcare for individuals, families, and communities in both urban and rural settings. Students gain experience in preventive, promotive, and rehabilitative care, preparing them for community-based healthcare roles.
Nutrition Laboratory
Under the guidance of a qualified dietician, students learn to prepare:
- Normal diets
- Therapeutic diets
- Diets for pregnant women and patients with medical conditions
The laboratory is fully equipped for food preparation, storage, preservation, and nutritional demonstrations.
Hostel & Accommodation
The hostel and accommodation facilities are designed to provide students with a safe, comfortable, and supportive living environment within the campus.
